This unit of study connects to the 100-years’ timeline as part of the change in political efforts following the Termination Period and parallel with the Indian Civil Rights era during the period of Restoration of Language, Culture, Governance, and Religion.
This Pueblo-based curriculum aims to strengthen the identity of Native American children in New Mexico by providing comprehensive K-12 unit plans on the complex political, social, cultural, and economic history of the Pueblo nations of New Mexico. The curriculum is rich with instructional strategies, resources, and Pueblo-centered cultural knowledge that will be valuable to students from diverse backgrounds and dispositions in life.
